Lost and Found
If you have lost an animal we suggest that you send an email to info@tschs.org detailing where the animal was lost, breed, coloring, animal’s name and your name and contact information along with a recent picture (full body shot preferred) of your missing pet. You will also need to come to the shelter as soon as possible to see if we have your animal. We recommend that you visit the shelter frequently to check on your lost animal as new animals come in daily. We also suggest that you provide flyers for your neighbors and post them in nearby subdivisions to get the word out about your missing pet.
To reclaim your lost animal please bring proof of ownership (vet records and pictures of your animal) to the shelter.
We accept stray/found animals from Stephens County residents during our normal shelter hours of Tuesday – Saturday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Animal Surrender
Owned animals, that you can no longer care for, can also be turned in to the shelter. We do ask for donations to help cover the cost of caring for these animals, but a donation is not required to surrender your animal. We will do everything we can to find a new home for your animal, but we cannot guarantee we will be able to do this, as we have a limited amount of cage space and we are required to keep stray animals for a certain period of time so our ability to house owner surrendered animals is sometimes limited.
