Trapped dogs rescued from a retention pond
We provide Animal Control services for the residents of the City of Toccoa and Stephens County. Our Animal Control officer investigates animal cruelty complaints, enforces humane laws, issues citations and appears in court cases. Our services are meant not only to protect the public from potentially harmful animals, but more importantly to educate individuals on how to prevent hazardous conditions and protect animals that can’t protect themselves. Our Animal Control officer works together with the community to protect one another as well as innocent animals through responsible care, compassion and awareness.
You can call 706-282-3275 to report an Animal Control Problem. After hours and weekends emergency calls should be made to 911.
If you have lost your animal, you need to visit the shelter to positively identify and reclaim them. Please bring proof of ownership (vet records, photos of animal) to assist in our verification of your ownership of the animal.
The shelter is open Tuesday – Saturday 11:00 am – 6:00 pm to reclaim animals. The shelter is located at 1747 Scenic Drive, Toccoa, GA 30577
